A skilled interviewer asks a question and ensures they get an answer. Even if, in the end, the answer is "I don't know".

What happens here is a bunch of softball which is suspiciously similar to shilling for someone's product like a late-night infomercial.

E.g.

Q: [This thing] is potentially negative. How do you avoid it?

A: A long, rambling restatement of the problem with many needless affirmations of the interviewer. "Yeah. That's really tough". Much like someone in a job interview nervously trying to fill empty air with words while he scrambles to come up with an answer.

But in most cases, a meaningful answer is not given; yet the interview just moves along to another question.

if you're going to post a paid product promo, let us the audience know, so that we can avoid the time waste.
